Counseling Services
At Stallworth Counseling Services, LLC, we understand life happens to everyone, and we recognize asking for support during stressful times can be challenging. It takes courage to be vulnerable, especially in front of people you don't even know. We specialize in creating safe places for self-expression, active listening, and open communication. Our skilled staff blend their clinical knowledge with real world scenarios, making assessments and goal-setting realistic and attainable.
Here are the counseling and support resources we provide:

Conflict Resolution
Disagreements and having a difference of opinion is natural and surprisingly common. We all have our own experiences and interpretations. However, when feelings and emotions are suppressed, they build over time and eventually explode. The focus then becomes the outburst instead of the reasons behind them. At Stallworth Counseling Services, LLC, we highlight the importance of getting to the core issues and we support them through the process. Not only is this helpful in the moment, it also provides them skills they can use on their own in the future.

Resource Parent Support
Resource Parents have one of the most underrecognized roles for children and families. They participate in a rigorous training process, and they are thoroughly assessed to ensure they are prepared to meet the needs of children joining their family- who are not their own. These children have been separated from their own families, and often arrive with experiences we can only imagine. Resource Parents receive support from their affiliated agencies, which is a great asset. Sometimes, these parents may require a different level of support that expands past what is happening with the child. At Stallworth Counseling Services, LLC, we have skilled staff- many with lived experiences as a resource parent or as a sibling- that can identify with some of the daily stressors impacting household relationships and social connections.

Grief & Loss Support
When experiencing a loss, different people have different responses. There are a variety of reasons why one person's grieving process can be easier or more difficult then someone else's- even if they are sharing the same loss. At Stallworth Counseling Services, LLC, we offer therapeutic support to individuals during these challenging times, and provide a safe place where they have permission to feel and heal at their own pace.

Debriefing Resources
Teachers, first responders, social workers, and law enforcement officers, etc. are who we rely on for support in times of need. They are trained to assess critical situations, defuse conflict, and separate emotion so they can be clear in their actions and decision making. But what do they do with all that "stuff"? Who do they lean on for support? At Stallworth Counseling Services, LLC, we a provide safe space for individuals who work in tense environments to address secondary and vicarious trauma. Our staff has lived experience working in this capacity, and can identify with many of the daily stressors connected to their work.

Co-Parenting Counseling
Raising children- birth, step, foster, or adoptive- is a full time job. There is no blueprint that gives you all the answers. This privilege and responsibility is rewarding and challenging, and stress increases when the adults are not on the same page. We all have our own experiences growing up, which may be very different from the other parent. That within itself, requires patience and compromise. When families are separated, shared parenting can be difficult for everyone involved. At Stallworth Counseling Services, LLC, we introduce strategies and resources to support families on their quest of effective co-parenting.
